I cant say I have a fav track. This entire album is amazing. This project always delivers. I would def check this stuff out. You wont be disappointed. Keep up the amazing work! Cant wait to hear more amazing music from Nietzu!
Although the main trademarks are the same, means alternating clean vocals and screams, this release is different as NIETZU's atmospheric black metal back catalogue. Without doubt, "The Distant Engines of Our Demise" is the most doom oriented and gloomy release so far. But for me that comes along with a reduced catchiness and dynamic, so it is really difficult to name a real favourite this time and the forerunner "Gnosis Coda" stays my favourite NIETZU album so far. A truly stellar death/doom album with heavy doses of black metal. Tracks like Isolation, Child of Light, and Broken Hymns deliver the sorrowful and icy tone of this album, elevated by the stirring cello compositions of Raphael Weinroth-Browne. The album delivers a deeply satisfying crescendo in Becoming Intangible before stirring the soul once again with Epilogue. Matt Richardson
