Falcon was the messenger of Huracan, Youngest Thunderbolt, and Sudden Thunderbolt. The face of the earth was not far for him. Nor was Xibalba far for him. In an instant, he could return again to the sky with Huracan.

“What is happening on the surface of the earth? They are just stomping about and shouting. May they be summoned here therefore. They shall come to play ball, and we shall defeat them. They have simply failed to honor us. They have neither honor nor respect. Certainly they act arrogantly here over our heads,”
The lords of the Underworld :
“I’m Flying Scab and Gathered Blood, my task is to sicken people in their blood.
We, the lords Pus Demon and Jaundice Demon. Our dominion is to swell people up until pus oozes from the skin of their legs, and the skin of their faces becomes yellow with jaundice.
Bone Staff and Skull Staff, we are the staff bearers of Xibalba. Our staffs are mere bones. Let’s skeletize people until they are truly bones and skulls. We killed people by having received only emaciated bones, bloated with starvation.
We, the Sweepings Demon and Stabbings Demon.Don’t abandon sweepings and trash in back or in front of your houses. Or you’ll be overtaken and stabbed by us until you fall face down upon the earth and die.
Our names are Lord Wing and Packstrap. Our dominion is the people who die on the road as a result of sudden death. Blood will come to your mouths, and you will die vomiting blood. When you people go out walking, we come upon you.

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Le temps des métaphores est révolu : l'humidité froide, c'est celle des larmes qui coulent sur le visage à cause de la dépression. Tout pleure dans cet album : les guitares typées DSBM grésillent, les solos ("The Damp Chill of Life", "It's Painless To Let Go") sont liquides et coulent, les voix prennent à la gorge ; même le piano, étranglé par les sanglots ("Cease"), est aphone. Insoutenable...
